Clark-Mabalacat-Angeles Extension Road, Exit to begin construction

CLARK FREEPORT – Construction of the road extension and northern exit of the Clark-Mabalacat-Angeles Road (CMAR) along Clark’s east perimeter fence is set to begin early next year.

This was the announcement made by Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo C. Garbo during the media forum “Balitaan” organized by the Capampangan in Media, Inc. in cooperation with the Clark Development Corp. last Friday.

“We will begin the construction of the extension which is about 70 meters by February or March next year,” Garbo said.

The mayor explained that the original Imelda Marcos Avenue exit in Barangay San Joaquin will be extended to the north in an area called Engineer in front of the Marina Golf Course in Barangay Dolores, almost bordering Tarlac province.

The changes were approved last year but weren’t able to proceed due to the old Dolores chapel blocking the exit. The latter will be moved.

With the opening of the extension and construction of the exit leading to the MacArthur Highway, motorists exiting Clark northbound will no longer have to pass through the heavily congested Mabalacat City downtown area. Only motorists going to the North Luzon Expressway via Mabalacat will be able to pass downtown with ease.

CMAR was opened in 2017. The project was billed at P130 million and would have a bridge component funded by the Clark Development Corporation (CDC).
