Some Martian craters were named after Bacolor (Pampanga), Camiling (Tarlac) and other Philippine towns

The International Astronomical Union (IAU) Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature (WGPSN) names the small craters on Mars after the small towns around the world with populations of 100,000 or less, though the naming didn’t necessarily mean a commemoration. In the Gazetteer of Planetary Nomenclature maintained by the IAU and the USGS, at least five Martian craters were named after the small towns in the Philippines: Bacolor (Pampanga), Camiling (Tarlac), Daet (Camarines Norte), Naic (Cavite), and Taytay (Palawan).
