Looking to witness something exciting? Then be sure to be in this coming July 10 to 11!
After being postponed for more than a year due to the pandemic, the PhilCycling National Trials for Road is finally pushing through! It will be held at the Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone this coming July 10 to 11. Cyclists can now go back to racing thanks to the support of the private sector along with, of course, the implementation of necessary safety protocols required by the government.
All participants (such as cyclists, race officials, staff, organizers, etc.) are subjected to take RT-PCT or Antigen tests as prescribed by health protocols and will be billeted at the Quest Hotel. Also, after the awarding ceremony, cyclists shall return immediately to their homes.
On July 10, 2021, two races will be held. First is the Individual Time Trial (ITT) starting at 9am. For men, 23 participants will set at 24.6kms. For women, 9 participants will set at 18kms. Second is the men and women Criterium with a total of 29 men and 8 women participating. It will start at 12nn and will be over a 2.3km circuit.
On the other hand, Road races will be held on July 11, 2021 on a 24.6-km loop. For men, a total of 68 participants will be set for 6 laps. For women, a total of 9 participants will be set for 4 laps. The start-finish venue for all races will be in the Clark Parade Grounds.
