Angeles City, Pampanga– Museum of Philippine Social History (MPSH) under the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) reopened yesterday, March 2, along with other NHCP museums in the country following ease on travel restrictions among local government units.
Locally known as Bale Pamintuan, the aged and historical house serves as the country’s history hub focusing on society and culture.
According to Bettina Arriola, MPSH curator, despite the reopening, NHCP and MPSH management released protocols for visitors. Guests are to book tours at least two days before their visit via phone call or online, the mandatory wearing of facemask, personal disinfection, social distancing, and completion of health declaration and contact tracing forms before entering the premises.
“Due to the limitations of our operations we still continue on reimagining ways by which we promote history and cultural heritage through digital initiatives undertaken by our museum” Arriola added.
Tour guides are no longer available; however, an audio-visual presentation will help visitors learn about the museum and its collection.
Moreover, guests are ask to avoid bringing large bags or backpacks, touching of exhibits and artifacts, and strict following on the path walk set by the management.
MHSP is one among 27 museums around the country under NHCP, allowed to reopen in the new normal.
