DITO Telecommunication Corporation (DITO) broke ground for its main hub and data center at Udenna Land mixed-use business district at the Clark Global City (CGC).
Specifications of the Pampanga-based hub weren’t shared. Still, the company’s 8-hectare development on the CGC business park will include a network operations center, a call center, a regional center, and a Research and Development (R&D) lab.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, DITO PMO Lead Benedicto Lacsamana said that Clark Global City is an ideal location for a DITO data center, which is a critical component to sustain DITO’s commercial operations center, envisioned as a Google-style headquarters inclusive of operational departments, a network operations center, call center, and regional center.
Also present are Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President and CEO Manuel R. Gaerlan, Project Director, DITO Telecommunity Project Director Benedicto Lacsamana, President, Udenna Land, Inc. President Wilfredo A. Placino, CDC VP of Business Enhancement Rynah F. Ventura, CDC VP of Engineering Service Ralph L. Mamauag, CEEC Project Director Ryan Xiayu, Vice GM GEDI Philippines Luo Bo, and NEPC Power Construction Corp. President Jian Zhimin.
This will be the sixth data center to be built, following the constructions in Cagayan De Oro City, Baler, Aurora; Iloilo City, Roxas City, and Ibajay, Aklan.
DITO has its roots in Mislatel, and is a joint venture between the Udenna Corporation and China Telecom’s parent company China Telecommunications. The company started commercial operations in March and aimed to become the third major telecommunications provider in the Philippines.
