Passengers departing and arriving through the Clark International Airport are now required to wear both face shields and masks when boarding their flights starting August 15.
In an advisory released on Saturday, the CRK said the requirement complies with the directive of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
“The initiative aims to further reduce the risk of transmitting the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in public transport facilities as health authorities have pointed out that the use of face shields and masks reduces exposure to and emission of respiratory droplets considerably,” the DOTr said.
Social distancing, hand-washing, and other health and safety procedures to combat the spread of Covid-19 shall be consistently observed in the airport facilities.
