Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, Jr’s Chief Adviser and Tactician IC Calaguas held a meeting last september 25 with some of Angeles City’s local designers to ask for help in creating designs and patterns that the participants of this program can use.
This program aims to promote reusable alternatives for facemasks and personal protective equipment (PPE) while providing extra income for marginalized sectors. The City Government will be hiring home-based “mananahi” to produce the face masks and PPEs for the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO), City Health Office (CHO) and Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC), while the face masks will be donated to the city residents who cannot afford it. Each “mananahi” of this program are required to make 250 face masks per week and 20 PPEs per month.
